On November 2, 2023, Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Director of the Central Foreign Affairs Office, met with Vice President Agar of the Sudan Sovereignty Commission in Beijing.

Wang Yi expressed that the traditional friendship between China and the Soviet Union is profound, always trusting and supporting each other. Last December, President Xi Jinping and President Burhan held a fruitful meeting during the first China Afghanistan Summit, which clarified the direction for promoting the in-depth development of the Sino Soviet strategic partnership. No matter how the situation changes, China's stance on developing Sino Soviet relations will not waver. It will continue to support Sudan in maintaining national sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, achieving domestic peace and stability, and exploring development paths that are in line with its own national conditions.

Agar stated that China has achieved tremendous development achievements under the leadership of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, which deeply admires the Soviet side. China has become a model for developing countries to learn from. The two countries have a profound traditional friendship, and the Soviet side will firmly promote the development of bilateral relations without any external interference. The Soviet side attaches great importance to China's important role in international affairs, appreciates China's attention to the situation in Sudan, and looks forward to China's support for Sudan's restoration of stability, reconstruction, and development.

Wang Yi stated that achieving stability in Sudan as soon as possible is not only in the fundamental interests of the Sudanese people, but also conducive to regional peace and security. China supports all parties in Sudan to promote the political process led by the Sudanese people through dialogue and consultation. We are willing to continue to provide assistance within our capabilities and believe that the Sudanese people can overcome difficulties and push the country back on track for stability and development.
