Vice Premier Liu Guozhong Visits Algeria

From January 15th to 17th, 2024 local time, Liu Guozhong, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, led a Chinese government delegation to visit Algeria at invitation. During the visit, President Teppen and Prime Minister Albavi respectively met with Liu Guozhong, exchanging in-depth views on China Arab relations and cooperation in various fields.

Liu Guozhong conveyed the warm greetings of President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang to President Teben and Prime Minister Albawi respectively, and actively evaluated the achievements of Afghanistan's development. Liu Guozhong stated that China and Arab countries are sincere friends and natural partners pursuing common development and national rejuvenation. Last July, President Teppen successfully conducted a state visit to China, and the two heads of state reached an important consensus. China is willing to take this year's 10th anniversary of the establishment of China Arab comprehensive strategic partnership as an opportunity to continue to firmly support each other on issues involving each other's core interests, jointly promote exchanges and cooperation under the framework of high-quality joint construction of the "the Belt and Road", closely coordinate and cooperate in international and regional affairs, and make positive efforts to promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

President Teben and Prime Minister Albawi respectively asked Vice Premier Liu Guozhong to convey cordial greetings to Xi Jinping President and Premier Li Qiang, saying that strengthening cooperation with China is the strategic choice of the Arab side. The Arab side is willing to actively participate in the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road" cooperation to attract more Chinese enterprises to invest in Afghanistan and jointly promote development. The Arab China relationship is unbreakable, and both sides have broad consensus on major international and regional issues. The Arab side is willing to work with China to defend international fairness and justice and safeguard the common interests of developing countries.

During the visit, Liu Guozhong also had discussions with representatives of the medical team assisting Afghanistan.
