Li Qiang Meets With Algerian President Teben

On the morning of July 19, 2023, Premier Li Qiang of the State Council met with Algerian President Teben at the Great Hall of the People on a state visit to China.

Li Qiang stated that China and Afghanistan are good friends with high mutual trust, good partners for sincere cooperation, and good brothers who share weal and woe. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations 65 years ago, the two countries have always respected each other and treated each other equally. They have firmly supported each other on issues related to each other's core interests and major concerns, and exchanges and cooperation in various fields have continuously deepened and deepened, setting a model for national exchanges. Yesterday, President * * held talks with Mr. President to jointly draw a blueprint for the development of China Arab relations in the next stage. China is willing to work with the Arab side to promote friendly cooperation in various fields to a new level under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state.

Li Qiang pointed out that China will continue to firmly support Afghanistan in safeguarding national sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, taking a development path that is in line with its own national conditions, and opposing external interference in Afghanistan's internal affairs. Both sides should make cooperation in traditional fields such as infrastructure construction more practical and achieve win-win cooperation; Expand cooperation in emerging fields such as information technology, digital economy, new energy vehicles, and aerospace satellites, and create a model for high-tech cooperation among developing countries; Deepen cultural exchanges and cooperation in health, education, tourism, and other fields to better benefit the people of both countries. China supports Algeria to play a greater role in international and regional affairs, and is willing to join hands with Algeria to practice true multilateralism, oppose unilateralism and hegemonic hegemony, and defend the common interests of China, Algeria, and the vast number of developing countries.

Teben stated that China is a good friend of Algeria, and both sides have always supported and helped each other. There are no restrictions on cooperation between Algeria and China. The Arab side supports the One China principle and China's defense of sovereignty and territorial integrity. It is willing to learn from China's development experience, further deepen cooperation with China in investment, minerals, construction, industry and other fields, strengthen coordination and cooperation in international and regional affairs, and open up new prospects and inject new impetus into the development of Arab China and African China relations.
