On the morning of October 19, 2023, President Xi Jinping of the People's Republic of China met in the Great Hall of the People with Prime Minister Madbury of Egypt, who came to China to attend the Third the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.

Xi Jinping pointed out that Egypt is the first Arab and African country to establish diplomatic relations with the New China. China and Egypt are good friends who share the same aspirations and trust each other, as well as good partners who work together for development and common prosperity. Over the past 10 years, China and Egypt have carried out fruitful cooperation within the framework of jointly building the "the Belt and Road". China supports Egypt in pursuing a development path that is in line with its national conditions, and is willing to deepen the docking of development strategies with Egypt. We encourage capable Chinese enterprises to invest and start business in Egypt, and welcome more high-quality Egyptian products to enter the Chinese market. China is willing to work with Egypt to implement the outcomes of the third "the Belt and Road" International Cooperation Summit Forum, strengthen cooperation in infrastructure, agricultural technology, renewable energy and other fields, expand people to people and cultural exchanges and cooperation, and constantly promote the development of China Egypt comprehensive strategic partnership.

Congratulations to Egypt on being invited to join the BRICS cooperation mechanism, pointing out that China is willing to strengthen cooperation with Egypt within the framework of China Arab and Central Africa, as well as coordinate and cooperate with multilateral platforms such as the United Nations and the BRICS, to uphold true multilateralism, international fairness and justice, and the common interests of developing countries, injecting more certainty and stability into the region and the world.

Madbury expressed congratulations on the successful hosting of the third the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. Egypt regards China as an example for emerging economies and developing countries. Thank you to the Chinese side for providing valuable support to Egypt for a long time. The joint construction of the "the Belt and Road" has greatly improved Egypt's transportation and logistics level and strongly promoted Egypt's economic development. Egypt looks forward to greater development of Egypt China relations in various fields, is willing to continue to actively participate in the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road" cooperation, and expects more Chinese enterprises to invest and start business in Egypt. Egypt is willing to provide policy support and security guarantees for this purpose. Clarify China's principled position on the current situation between Palestine and Israel, emphasizing that the top priority is to cease fire and end the war as soon as possible, to prevent the conflict from escalating or even spiraling out of control, leading to a serious humanitarian crisis. The fundamental way to resolve the recurrent conflict between Palestine and Israel is to implement the "Two State Plan", establish an independent Palestinian state, and achieve peaceful coexistence between the two sides. China appreciates Egypt's important role in promoting a cooling down of the situation, supports Egypt's efforts to open up humanitarian corridors, and is willing to strengthen coordination with Egypt and Arab countries to promote an early, comprehensive, just, and lasting solution to the Palestinian issue. Madbury expressed that Egypt and Arab countries highly appreciate China's consistent and just stance on the Palestinian issue, and look forward to China playing a greater role in resolving the current crisis.
