On the evening of October 19, 2023, President Xi Jinping of the People's Republic of China met in the Great Hall of the People with Prime Minister Maleane of Mozambique, who came to China to attend the Third the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.

Xi Jinping pointed out that China and Mozambique are true friends and brothers who share the same boat through storms and difficulties. I am pleased to see that China Mozambique cooperation in jointly building the "the Belt and Road" has yielded fruitful results. China is willing to work with Mozambique and other African countries to jointly build the "the Belt and Road" in high quality, promote the implementation of three cooperation initiatives, namely, the "Initiative to Support Africa's Industrialization", "China's Plan to Assist Africa's Agricultural Modernization", and "China Africa Talent Training Cooperation Plan", strengthen policy alignment and cooperation planning, share development opportunities and achievements, and help African countries accelerate their modernization process.

Xi Jinping emphasized that China is willing to continuously deepen the traditional friendship between China and Mozambique, strengthen strategic coordination, and promote the continuous new development of the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between China and Mozambique. China supports Mozambique in safeguarding national sovereignty, security, and development interests, and pursuing a development path that is in line with its own national conditions. Both sides need to deepen cooperation in fields such as energy and agriculture, and promote exchanges and exchanges in education, culture, local areas, and people to people. China is willing to strengthen communication with Mozambique on multilateral platforms such as the United Nations, and promote the implementation of the Global Development Initiative, Global Security Initiative, and Global Civilization Initiative.

Malaiane expressed that he was very happy to attend the third "the Belt and Road" International Cooperation Summit Forum in China. This trip deepened our understanding of China and the "the Belt and Road" initiative, and more appreciated the strategic vision of Xi Jinping President. A series of important initiatives, such as the the Belt and Road Initiative and the Global Development Initiative, are conducive to helping other countries eliminate poverty, develop economies and improve people's livelihood. China's development and foreign policy are based on peace, equality, respect, and friendship, and are a positive energy for promoting world peace and development. China has always given strong support to Mozambique and is a true friend of Mozambique, whether in the period of national independence struggle or in the difficult period of COVID-19 epidemic. Mozambique firmly pursues the one China policy and hopes to learn from the experience of Chinese path to modernization to better realize its own development, deepen practical cooperation with China in various fields and promote the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind.
