Xi Jinping Exchanged Congratulatory Messages With Kenyan President Luto On The 60th Anniversary Of The Establishment Of Diplomatic Relations Between China And Kenya

On December 14, 2023, National President Xi Jinping exchanged congratulatory messages with Kenyan President Luto to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Xi Jinping pointed out that since the establishment of diplomatic relations 60 years ago, China and Kenya have always cooperated and developed side by side, becoming good friends who trust each other politically and good partners for win-win economic cooperation. In recent years, the two countries have frequent high-level exchanges, continuously deepened political mutual trust, and jointly built the "the Belt and Road" cooperation, which has yielded fruitful results. Taking the lead in China Africa cooperation has not only brought benefits to the two peoples, but also set an example for China Africa cooperation. In October this year, President Ruto came to China to attend the third the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, and we reached important consensus on the future development of bilateral relations. I attach great importance to the development of China Kenya relations and am willing to work together with President Luto to take the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries as a new starting point, embark on a distinctive path of cooperation in achieving the development and revitalization of their respective countries, continuously enrich the connotation of China Kenya's comprehensive strategic partnership, and work together to build a closer China Kenya community with a shared future in the new era.

Luto stated that since the establishment of diplomatic relations 60 years ago, Kenya and China have jointly responded to the ever-changing international situation, adhered to mutual respect, support, friendly cooperation, unity and mutual assistance, and maintained a strong partnership. Bilateral economic cooperation and cultural exchange have achieved rich results. Kenya is willing to work with China to implement the outcomes of the Third "the Belt and Road" International Cooperation Summit Forum and the Johannesburg China Africa Leaders' Dialogue, so that bilateral relations will usher in a bright future of sustainable development, prosperity, friendship and common progress.
