On February 22, 2024, National President Xi Jinping exchanged congratulatory messages with Congolese President Sassou to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Xi Jinping pointed out that the friendship between China and Congo has remained steadfast over time. In the 60 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, despite the ever-changing international situation, the two countries have always cooperated sincerely and developed hand in hand, becoming good friends who trust each other politically and good partners for win-win economic cooperation. In recent years, frequent exchanges between the two countries, continuous deepening of political mutual trust, and steady progress in pragmatic cooperation have brought tangible benefits to the people of both countries, which is a vivid portrayal of the spirit of China Africa friendly cooperation. I attach great importance to the development of China Congo relations and am willing to work together with President Sassou to take the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries as a new starting point, continuously enrich the connotation of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Congo, and work together to build a high-level community with a shared future for China and Africa.
