Li Qiang Meets With Angolan President Lorenzo

On the morning of March 15, 2024, Chinese Premier Li Qiang met with Angolan President Lorenzo, who was on a state visit to China, at the Great Hall of the People.

Li Qiang pointed out that China appreciates Angola's long-term adherence to the One China principle and will continue to firmly support Angola's efforts to maintain national security and stability, oppose external interference, and promote economic and social development. China is willing to work with Angola to promote the upgrading of practical cooperation, expand cooperation in infrastructure, agriculture, trade, new energy, digital economy and other fields under the framework of high-quality joint construction of the "the Belt and Road" and the Forum on China Africa Cooperation, and constantly expand the cooperation cake to better achieve mutual benefit and win-win results. China is willing to import more high-quality products from Angola and encourage Chinese enterprises to invest in Angola. Both sides need to deepen exchanges in the fields of healthcare, human resource development, culture and tourism, and consolidate the public opinion foundation of friendship between the two countries.

Lorenzo stated that China is a highly trusted partner of Angola. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Angola 41 years ago, the relationship between the two countries has been continuously strengthened, and the potential for cooperation is enormous. The Angolan side thanked the Chinese side for providing valuable support during the most difficult period in Angola, helping Angola achieve rapid economic and social development and respond to the COVID-19 epidemic. The Angolan side firmly adheres to the One China policy and supports China in safeguarding its sovereignty and legitimate rights and interests. An welcomes Chinese enterprises to invest in An and is willing to further strengthen cooperation with China in areas such as infrastructure, agriculture, energy, and new energy to achieve common development.
