Kenyan President Luto Meets With Chinese Government Special Representative For African Affairs Liu Yuxi
On September 13, 2022, Kenyan President Luto met with the Chinese government's Special Representative for African Affairs, Liu Yuxi, in Nairobi to exchange views on bilateral relations and issues of common concern. Chinese Ambassador to Kenya, Zhou Pingjian, is present.
Liu Yuxi conveyed Chairman * *'s congratulations to President Luto. Liu stated that the friendship between China and Kenya has a long history. Over the past 60 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, our relationship has achieved leapfrog development and is a model of common development for developing countries. We are willing to work together with Kenya to continue traditional friendship, deepen practical cooperation, promote better and better relations between the two countries, and lead our cooperation to continuously achieve new results.
President Luto asked Liu Yuxi to convey his high respect to President * * * and thanked President Xi Jinping for immediately calling him congratulations. Luto stated that China is an important partner of Kenya, and the Kenyan side sincerely appreciates China's sincere assistance in Kenya's economic and social development. It is willing to further deepen bilateral relations, welcome more Chinese enterprises to invest and develop in Kenya, and promote new achievements in cooperation between the two sides in various fields such as infrastructure, agriculture, and education.
At the invitation of the Kenyan side, Special Representative Liu Yuxi visited Kenya from September 11th to 13th and attended the inauguration ceremony of President Luto. During this period, Liu Tedai conducted on-site inspections on cooperation projects such as the Nairobi Expressway and the Mombasa-Nairobi Railway.
