Angolan President Lorenzo Meets With Chinese Government Special Representative For African Affairs Liu Yuxi

On September 14, 2022, Angolan President Lorenzo met with the Chinese government's Special Representative for African Affairs, Liu Yuxi, in Luanda to exchange views on bilateral relations and issues of common concern. Chinese Ambassador to Angola, Gong Tao, is present.

Liu Yuxi conveyed Chairman * * *'s sincere congratulations and best wishes to Lorenzo for his re-election as President. Liu stated that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, China and Angola have always been in the same boat and fighting side by side. Bilateral relations have deepened, political mutual trust has been increasingly consolidated, and mutually beneficial cooperation has yielded fruitful results. China is willing to take the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Angola as an opportunity to strengthen the strategic docking between the two countries, implement the results of the 8th Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China Africa Cooperation, and promote the strategic partnership between the two sides to continuously reach a higher level.

President Lorenzo thanked President * * * for immediately congratulating him and expressing that Angola China friendship is profound, and the Angolan side firmly adheres to the One China policy and supports China's efforts to safeguard national sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity. The Angolan side is grateful for China's assistance in national construction and economic development, and is willing to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries in infrastructure and other fields to better benefit the people of both countries.
