Chinese Government Special Representative For African Affairs Liu Yuxi Meets With Acting Foreign Minister Umaru Of Cameroon

On September 19, 2022, the Chinese government's Special Representative for African Affairs, Liu Yuxi, held talks with Cameroon's Acting Foreign Minister Umaru in Yaound é to exchange views on bilateral relations and issues of common concern. Chinese Ambassador to Cameroon, Wang Yingwu, is present.

Liu Yuxi asked Umaru to convey the sincere greetings and best wishes from State Councilor Wang Yi and Foreign Minister to Foreign Minister Mbela. Liu stated that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Cameroon, they have adhered to sincere friendship, equal treatment, and win-win cooperation, continuously consolidating and deepening traditional friendship, and firmly supporting each other on issues related to each other's core interests. In recent years, practical cooperation between the two countries has yielded fruitful results, with a large number of cooperation projects completed. China is willing to take the implementation of the results of the 8th Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China Africa Cooperation as an opportunity to strengthen the docking of development strategies between the two countries and promote the transformation and upgrading of practical cooperation between the two countries.

Umaru asked Liu to convey the warm greetings from Foreign Minister Mbeira to State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi, highly appreciating President * * *'s global development and security initiatives, and praising the fruitful results of practical cooperation between the two countries. On behalf of the Kazakh side, Ukraine reiterates its firm adherence to the One China policy, supports China's efforts to safeguard national sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity, and strengthens communication and coordination between the two sides in international and regional affairs. The Kazakh side is willing to work with the Chinese side to deepen cooperation in infrastructure, agriculture, telecommunications and other fields, and welcomes more Chinese enterprises to invest and start business in Kazakh.

At the invitation of the Cameroonian side, Special Representative Liu Yuxi paid a friendly visit to Cameroon from September 17th to 20th, during which he also conducted on-site inspections of some Sino Cameroonian cooperation projects.
