Chinese Government Special Representative For African Affairs Liu Yuxi Meets With Acting Nigerian Foreign Minister Dada

On September 21, 2022, the Chinese government's Special Representative for African Affairs, Liu Yuxi, met with Nigeria's Acting Foreign Minister Dada in Abuja to exchange views on bilateral relations and issues of common concern. Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Cui Jianchun, is present.

Liu Yuxi asked Dada to convey the sincere greetings of State Councilor Wang Yi and Foreign Minister to Foreign Minister Onyama. Liu stated that in recent years, with the personal care and promotion of President * * * and President Buhari, political mutual trust between China and Nepal has continued to deepen, and practical cooperation has been at the forefront of China Africa cooperation, closely cooperating on major international and regional issues. China is willing to take the comprehensive implementation of the results of the 8th Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China Africa Cooperation as an opportunity to promote exchanges and cooperation in various fields between China and Nepal, help Nepal overcome the epidemic as soon as possible, achieve economic recovery and sustainable development, and continuously push the China Nepal strategic partnership to a new level.

Dada asked Liu to convey the warm greetings and best wishes from Foreign Minister Onyama to State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi. Da expressed that Nepal China friendship is profound and pragmatic cooperation has yielded fruitful results. Nepal firmly adheres to the One China principle and appreciates China's active support for Nepal's national construction and improvement of people's livelihoods. We are willing to work with China to further enhance exchanges at all levels and in various fields, promote pragmatic cooperation between the two countries to achieve more fruitful results, strengthen coordination and cooperation in international affairs, better safeguard the common interests of developing countries, and benefit the two countries and their people.

At the invitation of the Nepalese side, Special Representative Liu Yuxi paid a friendly visit to Nigeria from September 20th to 23rd. During this visit, he also held talks with the Regional Director General of the Nepalese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mustafa, and held discussions with major Chinese funded institutions in Nigeria. He also conducted on-site inspections of some Sino Nepalese cooperation projects.
