Director Of The Africa Department Of The Ministry Of Foreign Affairs Wu Peng Meets With The East Asian Regional Head Of The International Committee Of The Red Cross

On September 29, 2022, Wu Peng, Director of the Africa Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, met at invitation with Ke Qiuming, Personal Envoy of the Chairman of the International Committee of the Red Cross and Director of the East Asian Representative Office.

Wu Peng introduced the practical cooperation between China and Africa and the situation of humanitarian assistance to Africa, appreciated the efforts of the International Red Cross Society in cooperation with Africa, and expressed China's willingness to fully respect the wishes of African countries, leverage the advantages of bilateral cooperation with Africa, coordinate and cooperate in fields such as agriculture and health, and jointly promote peace and development in Africa.

Ke Qiuming spoke highly of the positive role played by China in promoting peace and stability in Africa and promoting economic and social development. He said that the COVID-19, climate change, and the Ukrainian crisis pose challenges to Africa's sustainable development.
