On October 17, 2023, Vice President Han was in Beijing meeting with Nigerian Vice President Setima, who came to China to attend the third "the Belt and Road" International Cooperation Summit Forum.

Han Zheng stated that under the leadership of the two heads of state, friendly exchanges and practical cooperation between China and Nepal have flourished. China has always viewed China Nepal relations from a strategic and long-term perspective, and is willing to further enhance political mutual trust with Nepal, work together to promote modernization construction, and create a model of unity and cooperation among major developing countries. Since the "the Belt and Road" initiative was put forward 10 years ago, it has become a recognized public product and cooperation platform in the international community. Nigeria is a pilot country for China Africa cooperation in the "the Belt and Road" initiative. China is willing to deepen cooperation in all fields with Nigeria and lead the upgrading of China Africa cooperation.

Shetima expressed that Nepal is grateful for China's long-term support to Nepal and African countries. The "the Belt and Road" initiative provides important guidance for international development cooperation. Nepal is willing to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation with China and continuously deepen Nepal China strategic partnership.
