Wang Yi Holds Talks With Foreign Minister Baibo Of The Central African Republic
On April 15, 2024, Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, held talks with Foreign Minister Baibo of the Central African Republic in Beijing.
Wang Yi stated that China has always regarded China and Africa as good friends and partners, and will continue to support China and Africa in exploring development paths that are suitable for their own national conditions. China will continue to speak up for China and Africa in multilateral occasions such as the United Nations Security Council, support China and Africa in defending national sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, and support China and Africa in their efforts to maintain national security and stability. China is willing to work with China and Africa to continuously deepen strategic mutual trust and friendly cooperation between the two countries, and work together towards building a strategic partnership.
Wang Yi said that China is willing to strengthen cooperation with China and Africa in areas such as infrastructure construction, green development, healthcare, education and training, and security law enforcement, to help China and Africa enhance their independent development capabilities. I hope that China and Africa will take more effective measures to create a safe environment and provide security guarantees for Chinese enterprises to invest and develop in China and Africa. China is willing to advocate and practice true multilateralism with China and Africa, uphold the fundamental principle of non-interference in internal affairs in international relations, oppose unilateralism and bullying, and safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of the "global south".
Wang Yi emphasized that this year is a great year for the development of China Africa relations, and the new summit of the Forum on China Africa Cooperation will be held in Beijing in the autumn. China is willing to work together with the Central African Republic to create a grand blueprint for China Africa cooperation in the new era. China is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with African countries, explore a path to achieve modernization in Africa, and work together to build a high-level community with a shared future between China and Africa.
Baibo expressed that the Central African Republic appreciates China's strong support in defending national sovereignty and territorial integrity, promoting economic and social development at multiple and bilateral levels, and highly appreciates China's adherence to the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries. The Central African Republic will actively attend the new summit of the Forum on China Africa Cooperation to promote the construction of an African China community with a shared future.
After the meeting, both sides jointly issued a joint statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Central African Republic on jointly promoting the implementation of the three major global initiatives.
